One of the most frustrating things I have ever done of my own free will, was choosing to make sea shell jewellery. I have spent an absurd amount of time trying to find different ways that I could make tiny holes in the shells without smashing them to pieces, and on many occasions, I failed. I heated up a needle and tried to pierce a hole, which worked on the first shell, then I got cocky and ended up with burns, broken shells and high blood pressure. Finally I asked my mentalist brother to attack them with a drill, that didn't work out to well for me either. But I managed to get holes into four different shells! Then the rest I decided would looks just as nice as stud earrings.
Which is really simple to do, you just need instant contact adhesive
and some earring findings, which you can get from anywhere really, you
just have to look for them. And then get creative!
Each one of these earrings has taken a year off my life I'm sure. But they look pretty and they will make a lovely present for the Ibiza girls, an untacky souvenir to remember one amazing week in the sun.
