Scrap Stores are non profit organisations that aim to promote recycling. They do this by redistributing waste materials to people who want it. For £4.50 for a basket, £6.50 for a box and £9 for a trolley (Hull Scrap Store prices) you can stock up on lots of creative materials that would otherwise end up in land fills. Materials such as paper, card, vinyl, Christmas cards, cardboard, posters, fabric, netting, tiles, leather and pretty much anything else!
Scrap Stores are my new love.
I went to a Scrap Store in Hull and paid £6 for a year long membership and £4.50 for a basket and it was overflowing when I left. I also got one metre of floral fabric for £1 and another piece of fabric for £1, which I intend on turning into clothes for myself (watch this space!) But I also got loads of material included in the price of my basket!
I don't think this image really does justice to all the amazing things I got, in a basket for £4.50! I am amazed and I will be having many, many more trips to hull. There will also be bits and bobs from this pile of scrap popping up on Phases over the next few weeks, maybe even months!
Recycle, Re-use, Re-create, Re-furnish, Re-vamp, Re-style, Re-decorate, Repeat!
AMAZING. Can we have a trip to the scrap store soon please?!
