This was followed by a quick trip to Hobby Craft where I managed to spend just over £5 on Mod Podge and some paper for decoupaging the inside of the drawers for my upcycling project and then I skipped home to get cracking with it. A task that took a lot less time than anticipated.
As the painting and decoupage didn't fulfill my Sunday crafting needs I decided to sand down and paint one of the drawer fronts. Instead of buying expensive brand chalk paint I decided to go for a Wilko's best tester pot (£2!), it has a chalky matte finish so the outcome is very similar. It went on really thick and covered easily! The colour is Vintage Duck Egg and is a little bit lighter than I wanted so I'm going to try some Canterbury Duck Egg over the top to see if I can achieve the colour I'm imagining.
It's nice to see it finally coming together!
